Anastasia Ashley was born on February 10, 1987 in a surf town of San Clemente, California. She started swimming at age 2, and was body boarding by age three. When she was five years old, her family transferred to Hawaii where she began to discover how to surf. There had been only a couple of female surfers at that time, so she largely competed against the guys. She has been surfing in competitions since she was 7 years old and quickly threw some spray, turned some heads and landed some sweet sponsor bargains. Her list of sponsors involve Oakley, Infinity Surfboards, Airwalk and PowerBar. And her plans and goals for the future? Nothing less than becoming a world champion.
