The Effects Regarding Mesothelioma Asbestos Fiber Cancer Of The ...

Tragically the pleural mesothelioma is becoming more and more well known, the mere mention of it striking fear into all of us for we know that it is associated with death.? Asbestos is the reaper, mesothelioma its hand maiden.? Asbestos, the wonder product of the fifties is now recognized as an enemy of the twentieth century.?

Mesothelioma asbestos lung cancer is a disease that causes the deadly tumors to develop in the chest and lung cavity. This site is intended to guide as originality in treating this deadly cancer. Mesothelioma (cancer of the mesothelium) is a disease in which cells of the mesothelium become abnormal and divide without control or order. They can invade and damage nearby tissues and organs.

Records show that there are a higher number of people afflicted with asbestosis and mesothelioma who have directly worked in asbestos mines, ship yards and companies making products from asbestos; however there are a large number of people afflicted, who have never worked in these industries.? Their contact with asbestos, due to the dust brought home on their husband?s clothes or from the asbestos tailings placed around mine houses and town perimeters.? But the tragedy does not end there, children innocently playing in their own back yards played amongst the asbestos tailings as children elsewhere play in the sand.? They had no way of knowing that their sand was asbestos blue.? A good bath at the end of the day may have removed the dust from the skin but the dust in the lungs remained and would lay dormant for many years before claiming its deadly legacy.?

When exposed to asbestos with insufficient protection a person will breathe in tiny asbestos fibres which are suspended in the air.? These fibres pass into the respiratory system until they become lodged in the lining of the lungs.? Over time, an accumulation of these asbestos fibres in the lungs can cause pleural mesothelioma.? Asbestos fibres may also pass into the lymphatic system and be transported to either the lining of the abdomen or the tissue surrounding the heart.? This may cause either peritoneal mesothelioma or pericardial mesothelioma.

In terms of symptoms, the three main types of mesothelioma have some symptoms in common with each other.? These symptoms are usual of all three types: chest pain, shortness of breath, coughing, coughing up blood, vomiting, nausea, weight loss and loss of appetite.? An additional symptom of pericardial mesothelioma is palpitations.??

Without warning, a healthy individual suddenly becomes short of breath, x-rays reveal fluid on the lungs and the night mare begins.? Questions are asked and you answer, Yes, I was exposed to asbestos dust but I was only in the town for a few short months and that was over 40 years ago.? How can this be? This is the most perplexing thing about mesothelioma prognosis.

Why is there such a long period of time between inhalation of asbestos dust and onset of the disease?? What triggers a strong healthy body to suddenly succumb to it?? What can we do to prevent this from happening? Blood tests are now available to determine whether mesothelioma is present in the body, before a person is aware of any symptoms.? This is an amazing breakthrough and perhaps the first step towards curing the disease before it becomes terminal.

Treatment methods include chemotherapy which is the use of drugs to kill the cancer, radiation therapy which uses a radiation dosage to kill off cancerous cells and surgery which attempts to gain long term control over the cancer by removing a large portion of malignant cells.? These treatment methods can be combined in the form of dual therapy.

Searching for partner! One x One ideas

Idea 1:

Has anyone watched Spirited away? Remember the part where San is riding on the train? If you can't remember, let me show you the music scene:

Being inspired by this and another movie that deals with a train ride, I decided to what about creating a roleplay that deals with long train ride and people who happen to be riding the train together, get to know one another. But something drastic happens on the train, changing the characters' lives forever.

Idea 2:

Characters meet a cafe. Very open and characters can even go as far as help one another with eachother's lives. We can think of little plots here and there.

Idea 3:

2 characters are room mates. It starts in the very beginning, when they first meet eachother. One of them lies (either male or female) that they're homosexual just so that they can be room mates together. Just thought it would be a fun story. Possible love triangles, or none at all and just friendship.

Important Home Improvement Information

So, you want to improve your home like you have some knowledge and respect for the endeavor, yes? Very well. First, you need to know the basics associated with it to showcase what type of knowledge you actually have about it. If that is not enough, try reviewing the article listed below to assist you.

Hose down your home on the outside using a pressure washer and detergents made specifically for your siding. Pressure washers can be rented quite economically and they do wonders in cleaning the girt off the outside of your home. Be careful around the roof line and windows. You don't want to knock anything loose!

Ask about getting discounted supplies from both supply companies and regular home improvement retailers. Items that are discontinued or end of the line will cost you less as long as there is enough for you to complete your project. Also consider sales when designing your project to keep your costs low.

Never take on a home improvement project that you aren't fully confident that you can complete. Even if you want to do-it-yourself, if you aren't confident that you can finish the project on your own you should obtain professional assistance. This will prevent you from realizing halfway into the project that you aren't able to get it done, which can cost more than getting a professional from the start.

If you are looking to upgrade or renovate a room in your home, think about if you have the time and patience to complete the project yourself, or if you would be better suited to hiring a contractor or handyman to take control of the project. This way, you will be able to plan accordingly and get your project completed.

Make sure that your contractor is filing for and receiving the permits needed to make home improvements. This requires that you double check his paperwork and go to your city to find out if he's filed for the permits. A good contractor will provide you a record of his actions without you even having to ask for it.

Always select energy-efficient windows for home improvement projects. Modern windows conserve energy in a variety of ways, from special glass coatings to tight-sealing gaskets. The most efficient of modern double-glazed windows even have noble-gas-filled glazing cavities to prevent heat transmission. High-tech windows can help the homeowner realize significant savings on heating and cooling.

Removing dated wallpaper is a home improvement that can completely transform the interior of your house. If you have money to spend, the best way to remove wallpaper would be to buy a commercial stream wallpaper stripper. If, however, you are on a limited budget, fill a spray bottle with a mixture of hot water and fabric softener and completely saturate the wallpaper. Leave the wallpaper for a few minutes then carefully peel off with a putty knife.

Always use gloves, glasses, and earphones when completing a home improvement project. Even small projects can give off dust and debris that might harm your eyes, create loud noises that are dangerous to your ear drums, and require chemicals that are not safe for your skin. Taking a few safety steps may seem silly for a small project, but you will thank yourself when no harm comes your way.

So, before you commit to just any home improvement project, do your homework and carefully select a project that your whole family will be able to enjoy for many years to come. By using these carefully selected home-improvement tips, you can choose a suitable project with maximum impact for yourself and your family to enjoy.power tool

Light-based 'Metatronics' chip melts minds, not copper

Engineers at the University of Pennsylvania have flipped the switch on a new type of computer circuit. Unlike conventional silicon, the new chip uses light -- not electricity -- to perform its logic. By creating an array of nano-rods, light-flow can be treated like voltage and current. These rods can then be configured to emulate electrical components such as resistors, inductors and capacitors. The benefits of the so-called "metatronic" system would be smaller, faster and more efficient computer chips, which is clearly a welcome prospect. Another curious property the team discovered, is what it calls "stereo-circuitry." Effectively one set of nano-rods can act as two different circuits, depending on the plane of the field. This means your CPU could become a GPU just by changing the signal. We can't speak for the light itself, but our minds are certainly bent.

Navigating a Tight Rental Market | Healthcare Concerns

When Kathleen Marin and her boyfriend first moved to the Baltimore area in 2008, their two-bedroom town house cost them $1,100 a month. But over the next 2? years, as demand flooded the rental market in their area, the landlord gradually upped their rent to $1,400.

Buying a home wasn?t an option for the 27-year-old student, who works part time and has a limited credit history. So late last year, the couple sought out a cheaper place. After searching online listings and visiting properties nightly for three weeks, they eventually found an apartment for $1,200 that they plan to move into in May.

But the cheaper place comes with another price: a lot less space (one floor instead of their current two-story town house) and a dated kitchen.

[22PBc]

John Ueland

?If I?d gone into it and wanted the balcony and the brand-new kitchen,? Ms. Marin says, ?I would never have found this apartment.?

The rental market is the tightest it?s been in more than a decade, with only 5.2% of apartments nationwide vacant at the end of 2011, down from a high of 8% in 2009, according to real-estate data firm Reis.

Demand is up as the housing crisis and tighter lending standards have left many people unable to or wary of purchasing a home. And higher demand means average rents are rising, too.

To find the best deal possible in this market you first need to figure out what makes one rental cheaper than others in a given area. For instance, space in new apartment buildings is at a premium since relatively few buildings have been built since the housing crisis. That means the best deals can be found in older constructions, though even these are pricier these days.

And amenities?and rents?can fluctuate substantially within a single building. An apartment on a lower floor will typically cost less than one on a higher floor. So will one with an obstructed view and little direct sunlight. The two-bedroom apartment Ms. Marin is moving into has a kitchen and appliances that are more dated than in some other apartments in the building.

21PBCHRTc

21PBCHRTc

When checking out an apartment, ask the real-estate or rental agent if there are less-expensive properties available. Ms. Marin and her boyfriend did so and snagged an apartment in the complex that was $120 cheaper than the one they were originally shown.

If you are looking to rent a single-family home, that market is even more competitive since there are fewer such properties on the market. In many places, monthly rent for a single-family dwelling runs more than a monthly mortgage payment on a similar property would, says Michael Labout, a residential real-estate broker in Colorado Springs, Colo.

If renting a home is a temporary solution, you can save money by looking in a less-than-ideal school district if you don?t have school-age children or on a noisy street. Multifamily dwellings also are typically cheaper than single-family homes.

A newer entry into the rental market is homes being rented by owners who haven?t been able to sell. With information on local rental prices widely available online, these first-time landlords will likely be asking for market prices, says Jed Smith, managing director for quantitative research at the National Association of Realtors. Since their ultimate goal is to sell the property, these landlords may be more serious about maintenance of the property than a landlord who owns multiple properties, he says. So make sure a lease specifies who is responsible for taking care of?and paying for?what.

And if you see a place that you really like that?s been for sale for an extended period, inquire about renting it instead. Owners may be open to a deal if they are desperate.

When it comes to negotiating rent, in this market you need to approach it the same way you would a home purchase. That means finding out what the comparable rents in the area are and presenting that data to the landlord.

In a landlords? market, ?it will be more difficult to negotiate a lower rate, but the key to negotiating? will be comparable properties, says Mr. Smith. If you point out that an apartment is going for more than market rate, you?re likely to get it down to market rate.

Also, showing a potential landlord your credit report to prove that you aren?t a financial risk can help you get a lower payment in some cases, says Mr. Smith.

If you?re handy, look for a fixer-upper rental. There are many more of them these days since landlords are confident they?ll be able to rent them with all of the demand. You can suggest making repairs in exchange for lower rent, says Mr. Labout. Just be sure to get it in writing.

Is your Android app on BlackBerry App World without you knowing?

In our review of PlayBook 2.0, we were eager to check out how well Android apps worked on the platform, and one of the first we reached for was the Dolphin HD browser. Curiously enough, it turns out Dolphin's makers MoboTap had no idea their app was available via BlackBerry's App World. The discovery came after we were notified by developer Steve Troughton-Smith that Dolphin HD had been submitted to App World by white label store Handster (owned by Opera). We reached out to MoboTap who confirmed they didn't authorize any submission by Handster, with a spokesperson telling us "We do not condone Handster submitting our Dolphin Browser app to BlackBerry's App World for us and are currently working to take it down and assure Handster will not submit our app for us again. We will assess developing for BlackBerry when the time is right." Dolphin HD may be a free app, but the question remains: why is Handster submitting it without permission? Has your app been submitted to App World without your knowing?

Bradley Manning, WikiLeaks Suspect, Charged With 22 Crimes, May Face Life in Prison

WikiLeaks suspect Bradley Manning was formally charged on Thursday ahead of a court-martial that could see the US soldier sentenced to life in prison.

Manning was charged with 22 crimes, the most serious of which is "aiding the enemy," for allegedly turning over a trove of classified U.S. documents.

The information was later published by WikiLeaks in one of the most serious intelligence breaches in American history, and Manning has been charged accordingly.

The 24-year-old Manning is accused of passing along hundreds of thousands of military field reports from Iraq and Afghanistan and US diplomatic cables.

WikiLeaks got them from November 2009-May 2010, when he was serving in Iraq.

The leak of the military documents shed light on civilian deaths, while the diplomatic cables sparked a firestorm within the State Department by disclosing the private remarks of heads of state and candid observations by senior U.S. officials.

The U.S. government slammed WikiLeaks, saying it threatened national security and even the lives of foreigners working with the military and U.S. embassies.

WikiLeaks supporters view the site as an important freedom of information source, a whistleblower that exposed wrongdoing, calling Manning as a political prisoner.

Carolyn Scott: More Memphis Bites

With so many incredible historic locations and delicious places to dine on vegan, gluten free and overall healthy food, I just had to return for a second post. Whether you're checkin' out the famed Beale Street or walking through the legendary Sun Studio, there is so much tasty food in and around the music city on the Mississippi River that you gotta make time for some awesome eatin'!

If you are looking for a unique and memorable Memphis and delta area adventure, you may want to look into American Dream Safari Tours. Customized tours of Memphis and surrounding areas, curated and chauffeured by the one and only Tad Pierson. One of the coolest cats you'll ever meet, Tad drives you around in style, in a pink '55 Cadillac. Taking you to the most touristy to way off the beaten path, American dream Safari is the best way to soak in the city from its most popular sites to the most secret juke joints and everything in between.

One of the cutest places I had the good fortune to stumble upon is the Trolley Stop Market. Just a stone's throw away from Sun Studio, the market is a kitchy market style eatery, bakery and bar that showcases local, organic and seasonal food as well as arts and crafts from local artisans. The menu is full of fresh daily offerings and even feature some of the owners' own vegetables from their own farm. With a ton of great vegan offerings (they even have "Vegan Night" once a week), the sides, sandwiches and salads are delish. But what knocked my socks off was their vegan pizzas! Whoa Nelly, fantastic crust, delicious sauce and fresh veggies topped with a light sprinkling of vegan cheese that compliments all the ingredients makes for 1 of my all time favorite pizzas. oh so good!

A fun place off the beaten path is Three Angels Diner. Very vegan friendly, brunch, lunch or dinner, you can find a dish you'll love. I popped in for brunch and went to town on my biscuits and gravy along with a nice helping of tofu scramble. Bring your friends, enjoy the local art and bring your appetite on over to Three Angels!

I've always loved the idea of cute diners or bakeries located inside of an old timey gas station. Fuel Cafe is just that kind of place! Obviously fuel is a great name for restaurant in an old gas station but it has a double meaning as the food is fresh, local, seasonal and healthy. Lots of vegan options as well as a number of local and organic dishes, this cute place doesn't skimp on taste. With one of the first food trucks in Memphis, Fuel is cornering the market of healthy eats both at a great brick and mortar locations as well as mobile. A Fuel must: Vegan tacos or shall I say Gorditas! OMG, 2 corn tortillas held together by delicious melted vegan cheese, stuffed with fresh pico de gallo, guacamole and homemade vegan taco meat. So yum but don't miss their chili, vegan dips and so much more!

Now if you have a hankering for some authentic Italian, you may want to saunter over to PaPa Pia's on Union. Just a quick walk from the famous Peabody Hotel, Papa has some nice Italian fare. I was delighted with their gnocchi primavera as it was so tasty and light, bursting with flavor, I didn't have to douse my dish in marinara sauce to give it oomph. Very accommodating to special diets, it's a great rustic place in the heart of downtown Memphis.

I had so much fun in Memphis and can wait to see the healthy and vegan options grow in this bluesy, rock n' roll town!

Thoughts About an Umbrella Policy on a Rainy Day | Yutz-Merkle ...

Friday, February 24th, 2012 | car insurance, homeowners insurance, independent insurance agency, Insurance

What would you think of if someone asked you whether or not you had an umbrella policy?? Would you consider it a silly question about your umbrella-carrying habits?? As in whether or not you take an umbrella out the door based on the forecast or the way the sky looks?? Well?that?s probably not what they intended by the question ? at least, it?s not what I want you to think about today.? I want you to think about these scenarios?

Your son or daughter hosts a party in your home.? Unbeknownst to you, someone brought alcohol.? One of the kids who had been drinking leaves the party, gets behind the wheel, and causes a severe accident.

Or?It?s your day to drive the neighborhood carpool.? You are involved in a major accident while driving your child and your neighbors? children to daycare.

In either of those situations, a jury could award the damaged parties millions of dollars?for which you would be responsible!? You could face financial ruin?unless you have a good umbrella policy, that is.

So, what exactly is an umbrella policy?? An umbrella policy (or umbrella insurance) refers to a liability insurance policy that protects the assets and future income of the policyholder above and beyond the standard limits on their primary policies.? These policies are fairly inexpensive ? typically having annual premiums under $200/year for $1 million or more in coverage ? especially when you look at everything an umbrella policy covers:

 • Protection for covered claims by others for personal injury or property damage caused by you, members of your family/household, or hazards on your property for which you are legally liable.
 • Personal liability coverage for occurrences on or off your property.
 • An additional layer of protection above your primary auto policy against auto-related liabilities.
 • Protection against non-business related personal injury liabilities such as slander, libel, wrongful eviction, or false arrest.
 • Legal defense costs for a covered loss, including lawyer fees and associated court costs.
 • Worldwide coverage ? no matter where you go ? excepting only situations involving foreign ownership of dwellings and/or automobiles.

Considering all the protection an umbrella policy provides, it would seem an obvious purchase for someone making insurance decisions, correct?? You?d be surprised.? Studies show that less than 15 percent of Americans purchase umbrella policies!? Insurance experts and financial planners believe these policies (or personal liability coverage) should be standard practice to help preserve your financial security ? especially in this litigious age of multi-million dollar lawsuits. (http://www.erieinsurance.com/eriesense/issues/summer2008/momentoftruth.aspx)

Maybe it?s time to give some serious consideration to the question of whether or not you have an umbrella policy.? After all, we never expect a party hosted at our home to lead to a drunk-driving accident?we never expect to have an accident driving the neighborhood children to daycare?we never expect those beautiful sunny skies to turn overcast?but the unexpected happens all the time!? I?d rather tote my umbrella along and not need it than get caught out in the rain ? wouldn?t you?? Talk to your insurance agent today to make sure you?re protected from the unexpected.

Newark mayor: NYPD Muslim files 'deeply offensive'

Imam Abdul A. Muhammad of the Masjid Imam K. Ali Muslim mosque in Newark, N.J., speaks in his clothing and accessories store, regarding surveillance of the Muslim community by the New York Police Department, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012. Americans in New Jersey?s largest city were subjected to surveillance as part of the New York Police Department?s effort to build databases of where Muslims work, shop and pray. The operation in Newark was so secretive, even the city?s mayor says he was kept in the dark. For months in mid-2007, plainclothes NYPD officers snapped pictures of mosques and eavesdropped in Muslim neighborhoods. The result was a 60-page report, obtained by The Associated Press. (AP) ? The mayor and police director of New Jersey's largest city said Wednesday the New York Police Department misled their city and never told them it was conducting a widespread spying operation on Newark's Muslim neighborhoods. Had they known, they said, they never would have allowed it.

"If anyone in my police department had known this was a blanket investigation of individuals based on nothing but their religion, that strikes at the core of our beliefs and my beliefs very personally, and it would have merited a far sterner response," Newark Mayor Cory Booker said.

In mid-2007, the NYPD's secretive Demographics Unit fanned out across Newark, photographing every mosque and eavesdropping in Muslim businesses. The findings were cataloged in a 60-page report, obtained by The Associated Press, that served as a police guidebook to Newark's Muslims. There was no mention of terrorism or any criminal wrongdoing.

Officials reacted strongly on Wednesday.

"It is deeply offensive for me to do blanket surveillance for no reason other than religious affiliation," said Booker, who called on his state's attorney general to investigate.

Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio, who was deputy chief of the department at the time, said the NYPD asked to be shown around the city. New York police said it was part of an investigation but never revealed what it was about, DeMaio said.

"We really want to be clear: This type of activity is not what the Newark PD would ever do," he said.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who was the top federal prosecutor in the state in 2007, said he didn't remember the NYPD ever approaching him about surveillance in the city or a threat that would justify it. He called the Newark report "disturbing."

"The NYPD has at times developed a reputation of asking forgiveness rather than permission," he said.

Such surveillance has become common in New York City in the decade since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Nearly 3,000 Americans died when al-Qaida terrorists hijacked airliners and flew them into the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon near Washington and a field where one crashed in Pennsylvania.

Police have built databases showing where Muslims live, where they buy groceries, what Internet cafes they use and where they watch sports. Dozens of mosques and student groups have been infiltrated, and police have built detailed profiles of local ethnic groups, from Moroccans to Egyptians to Albanians.

But the NYPD's intelligence unit also operates far outside its jurisdiction and has worked to keep tabs on Muslims across the Northeast. The department has cataloged Muslim communities in Long Island, conducted undercover operations in New Brunswick, N.J., and has turned often innocuous Internet postings by Muslim student groups into police files.

The monitoring of Muslim college students across the Northeast drew sharp rebukes from administrators at Yale, Columbia and elsewhere earlier this week. But New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg issued his most vigorous defense of his police department to date.

"The police department goes where there are allegations. And they look to see whether those allegations are true," he told reporters Tuesday. "That's what you'd expect them to do. That's what you'd want them to do. Remind yourself when you turn out the light tonight."

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne did not respond to a message seeking comment on the Newark effort Wednesday. He has previously denied the existence of the Demographics Unit.

The documents obtained by the AP show, for the first time in any detail, how the NYPD's intelligence-gathering efforts stretched outside the department's jurisdiction. New Jersey and Long Island residents had no reason to suspect the NYPD was watching them. And the department is not accountable to their votes or tax dollars.

NYPD conducted similar operations in Suffolk and Nassau counties on suburban Long Island, according to police records. The NYPD frequently operates outside its jurisdiction without telling federal or local officials.

The report left Newark Muslims grasping for explanations as they saw pictures of their mosques and businesses in police files.

"All of these are innocent people," Nagiba el-Sioufi of Newark said recently while her husband, Mohammed, flipped through the NYPD report.

Egyptian immigrants and American citizens, the couple raised two daughters in the United States. Mohammed works as an accountant and is vice president of the Islamic Culture Center, a mosque a few blocks from Newark City Hall.

"If you have an accusation on us, then spend the money on doing this to us," Nagiba said. "But you have no accusation."

The Newark police director at the time, Garry McCarthy, is now in charge of the Chicago Police Department. He said the NYPD initiated the operation and none of his officers participated.

The goal of the report, like others the Demographics Unit compiled, was to give police at-their-fingertips access to information about Muslim neighborhoods. If police got a tip about an Egyptian terrorist in the area, for instance, they wanted to immediately know where he was likely to find a cheap room to rent, where he might buy his lunch and at what mosque he might attend Friday prayers.

"These locations provide the maximum ability to assess the general opinions and general activity of these communities," the NYPD Newark report said.

The effect of the program was that hundreds of American citizens were cataloged ? sometimes by name, sometimes simply by their businesses and their ethnicity ? in secret police files that spanned hundreds of pages:

? "A Black Muslim male named Mussa was working in the rear of store," an NYPD detective wrote after a clandestine visit to a dollar store in Shirley, N.Y., on Long Island.

? "The manager of this restaurant is an Indian Muslim male named Vicky Amin" was the report back from an Indian restaurant in Lindenhurst, N.Y., also on Long Island.

? "Owned and operated by an African Muslim (possibly Sudanese) male named Abdullah Ddita," was the summary from another dollar store in Shirley, N.Y., just off the highway on the way to the Hamptons, the wealthy Long Island getaway.

In one report, an officer describes how he put people at ease by speaking in Punjabi and Urdu, languages commonly spoken in Pakistan.

There are no allegations of terrorism in the Demographics Unit reports, and the documents make clear that police were interested only in locations frequented by Muslims. The canvass of businesses in Newark mentions Islam and Muslims 27 times. In one section of the report, police wrote that the largest immigrant groups in Newark were from Portugal and Brazil. But they did not photograph businesses or churches for those groups.

"No Muslim component within these communities was identified," police wrote, except for one business owned by a Brazilian Muslim of Palestinian descent.

Polls show that most New Yorkers strongly support the NYPD's counterterrorism efforts and don't believe police unfairly target Muslims. Civil rights groups and Muslim activists, however, have called for Police Commissioner Ray Kelly's resignation over the spying and the department's screening of a video that portrays Muslims as wanting to dominate the United States.

In Newark, the report was met with a mixture of confusion and anger.

"Come, look at yourself on film," Abdul Kareem Abdullah called to his wife as he flipped through the NYPD files at the lunch counter of their restaurant, Hamidah's Cafe.

An American-born citizen who converted to Islam decades ago, Abdullah said he understands why, after the 9/11 terror attacks, people are afraid of Muslims. But he said he wishes the police would stop by, say hello, meet him and his customers and get to know them. The documents show police have no interest in that, he said.

"They just want to keep tabs on us," he said. "If they really wanted to understand, they'd come talk to us."

Newark Mayor Booker met with Islamic leaders while campaigning for his post. Those interviewed by the AP said they wanted to believe he didn't authorize the spying but wanted to hear from him directly.

"I have to look in his eyes," Mohammed el-Sioufi said at his mosque. "I know him. I met him. He was here."

Because officers conducted the operation covertly, the reports contain mistakes that could have been corrected had the officers talked to store owners or imams. If police ever had to rely on the database during an unfolding terrorism emergency as they had planned, those errors would have hindered their efforts.

For instance, locals said several businesses identified as belonging to African-American Muslims actually were owned by Afghans or Pakistanis. El-Sioufi's mosque is listed as an African-American mosque, but he said the imam is from Egypt and the congregation is a roughly even mix of black converts and people of foreign ancestries.

"We're not trying to hide anything. We are out in the open," said Abdul A. Muhammad, the imam of the Masjid Ali Muslim mosque in Newark. "You want to come in? We have an open door policy."

By choosing instead to conduct such widespread surveillance, Mohammed el-Sioufi said, police send the message that the whole community is suspect.

"When you spy on someone, you are kind of accusing them. You are not accepting them for choosing Islam," Nagiba el-Sioufi said. "This doesn't say, 'This guy did something wrong.' This says, 'Everyone here is a Muslim.'"

"It makes you feel uncomfortable, like this is not your country," she added. "This is our country."

Real Estate Auctions The New Land Rush ? Arkham City

On a sunny afternoon inside Miami, an energetic crowd gathers on the field of the top quality luxury land. A loud and eager banter between an auctioneer, a number of bidders and bidder assistants fills the air. For many moments the auctioneer asks for the next highest bid and the bidders reply. Suddenly the bidders grow quiet. The high bidder holds his breathing inside expectation of winning the market. The auctioneer calls for another bid. In a loud obvious voice which rolls over the audience he says, ?Fair caution, last chance? the auctioneer pauses, ?SOLD!? Also inside less than 10 moments another multimillion dollar land has changed owners.

Successful home listings like the 1 above are beginning all over North America and the Caribbean. Recently home listings have been on the rise, the increase inside popularity is partly powered by growing inventories and fading buyer confidence. Properties that were marketing inside days using traditional methods are now languishing in the market unable to attract buyers each and every sellers reduce prices. Many say the real estate boom has concluded but wise buyers and sellers are profiting from home listings.

Real Estate Auctions Work inside Up or Down Markets.

Regardless of developments or market cycles, home listings provide an open and transparent procedure for buyers and sellers. Properly conducted home listings attract prepared and ready buyers and encourage them to act now.

The market method removes the ?wait and see? mindset which serves to further depress home values. Buyers are always concerned with overpaying. Buyers gain confidence with their purchases at home listings because they can easily see what others are going to pay.

When market need is high and inventories low, home listings delivers marketing costs fine above what a ready merchant could have accepted inside a negotiated personal treaty sale. In good marketing climates countless people using traditional home methods; negotiating with 1 buyer at a time, leave lots of money of equity on the table. During up markets home listings are how to establish top market price.

Evaluating Your Real Estate for Auction

Not every home or merchant for that thing makes a good choice for market. First off sellers need to be prepared to sell now as well as for the present market value. Also a property market might not fix problems caused with a downturn inside market value of your home, when you owe over a ready buyer might pay, be willing to come to closing with your check book.

Properties that do well inside home listings have a high uniqueness factor. Ask yourself, ?What makes my home different from most others?? Maybe you own a location home or top quality luxury house, commercial attributes and land do well at market. Real land listings thrive on uniqueness. If your home is like everyone elses, the best thing you can easily do is give the most competitive price.

Most importantly sellers need to be reasonable about setting a low bid. A merchant should search at the lowest, latest comps and price below that to create the interest and urgency needed for a successful home market. Once the market begins and qualified bidders begin contending against each other you can easily watch the marketing price increase.

Locate a Qualified Real Estate Auctioneer

Start by checking with the National Auctioneers Association, the best home auctioneers belong to this company. These home auctioneers are fine trained and keep to a standard of follow as well as a code of ethics. Numerous attend the annual International Auctioneers Conference where the most recent techniques and innovations inside the real land market industry are presented.

Find out when the company you are interviewing is a full time home market firm. Many real estate professionals are becoming market licenses however do not experience with the market approach to advertising. Conducting a successful home market is nothing like personal treaty traditional home sales. Go with a home market pro.

Youre probably greater of with an firm that specializes inside home listings. There are many qualified auctioneers whom have years of experience marketing own property; furniture, dishes, field equipment and the casual uncommon painting. Selling home at market is a complex thing that should just be attempted by full time experienced home market experts.

Commissions and fees can change, sellers should pay all advertising costs upwards front and buyers usually pay 10% of the sales price to the auctioneer of which a share goes to participating real estate professionals.

Types of Real Estate Auctions

Auctions are beneficial because they create a sellers market. Professionally conducted home listings create urgency, a reason to purchase now and competition for the home. Terms and circumstances of sale are established before the market. Real land listings might follow 1 of these 3 approaches:

Absolute Auction

The home is available to the best bidder irrespective of price- using this method usually returns the best sale price.

Minimum Bid Auction

Seller agrees to sell at or above a published low bid price ? this method is worthwhile for web listings.

Seller Confirmation or Reserve Auction

With a reserve market, the seller ?reserves? the correct to accept or decline any bids commonly within 48 hours of the market. Reserve listings are employed whenever there is a lien on the home from a lender or perhaps a court requested sale with a minimum marketing price.
