Help Road Trip conquer Paris

In just three weeks, I'll be starting Road Trip 2011, and this year it's all about Europe.

This will be my sixth-annual journey in search of some of the best destinations around for technology, military, architecture, science, nature, and so on.

The Eiffel Tower will be part of Road Trip 2011 in Europe. But what else would be good to spotlight? If you have a suggestion that I end up using, you could win a prize.

In past years, Road Trip has been all over the U.S. I've had the opportunity to visit the Pacific Northwest, the Southwest, the Southeast, the Rocky Mountain region, and the Northeast.

But this year, for the first time, Road Trip is heading across the pond to Europe.

Already, I've already got a long list of destinations in eight countries: Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, England, Italy, and Spain. But I thought I'd turn to my readers to see if you have any great ideas for what I should report on in Paris.

So, if you have an idea for a Road Trip stop in the City of Light, please send it to daniel--dot--terdiman--at--cnet--dot--com. Here's what I'm looking for: It would need to be something that would appeal to an American audience. And it would need to be highly visual and support a sizable photo gallery. I've already got the Eiffel Tower and the Paris Air Show on the schedule, though, and I don't think the Louvre is going to be possible.

Some examples of things that might work are manufacturing facilities for iconic brands, famous monuments or large-scale works of art or architecture, and famous or important military facilities. In the past, for instance, I've written up behind-the-scenes looks at New York's Grand Central Terminal, the process of printing the next-generation $100 bill, NORAD's former home at Cheyenne Mountain, Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, the high-tech gear aboard the most technologically advanced submarine on earth, and so on.

If you're the first person to send me an idea for something that I end up including in the trip, I'll send you a prize.

Thanks so much for your help. I look forward to hearing your ideas.
